I dabbled in pottery in the 80's, stained glass in the 90's and finally found a medium that allows me to create wearable art using glass. The colors are endless using transparent, opalescent, collage, streakies, iridized and dichroic glass. I purchased a larger kiln and started creating larger pieces - plates, bowls that can be used in the home. Who knew this could be such fun!!
The fun for me is also receiving stories about friends and clients wearing my art all over the world and getting compliments.
I was eating lunch at a patio restaurant and a woman at the next table admired the way the sun caught the colors on my pendant I was wearing. She complimented it and asked where I purchased the piece. After informing her that I make glass jewelry, and made this piece, she bought it!!
The next "EVOLUTION" will be fun. I continue to evolve new designs using fine silver. The material is flexible, can be shiny or matte and looks amazing incorporated into some of my fused glass. Once heated in a kiln up to 1400 degrees it is solid .999 silver!
